My First Bohol Adventure

Last March 2, I visited the wonderful Bohol with a friend. This is the very first time I traveled on a plane without my parents and with my own money. Arranging this trip was a mess at first. We got the travel package from a deal website and the travel agency was very difficult to contact. It was not a good start and I was thinking that it may end that way but I was wrong! :-) Since the flight got delayed, we arrived at Tagbilaran, Bohol at around 4pm. On our way to our resort, our tour guide told us that if we want to visit and really enjoy the amazing beach of Bohol we should visit Alona Beach which was only one tricycle ride from our resort. So after checking in, we immediate look for a tricycle and went to Alona Beach. It took us 20 minutes from our resort to Alona Beach and a whooping 150 pesos for a one way tricycle ride. But when we got there it was really worth it! :-) Here are some shots of my Bohol trip :-)

On the way to Panglao Island, Bohol :-)

Low tide in the morning. The beach in our resort was dirt but the sand is white.

After 20 minutes of tricycle ride from our resort, finally, Alona Beach!

whiiiiiiite sand!

picked up a few nice looking shell...

we're really not prepared for the beach so we bought this purple sarong for 300pesos

dinner by the beach :-)

Sizzling Squid and Gambas!

i'm really not a fan of seafoods, so I ordered Gordon Bleu...

yummmmmmm!

Fire Dancing...

for dessert, we stop by a local coffee shop

yummy cookies & cream and hazelnut frappe!

For our Day 2 - City Tour, our first stop was the Tarsier Sanctuary

Tarsiers are sooo small. Their adult size is just slightly bigger than a tennis ball

a baby tarsier is just as big as an adult human thumb

Our next stop was the famous Chocolate Hills!

It was raining on the way to the place, but it suddenly stop when we got there :)

There are more than a thousand chocolate hills!!!

For our 3rd stop, we went to a butterfly sanctuary.

They let us hold this caterpillar. Its like a soft rubbery marshmallow.

The cocoon stage.

Finally, butterflyyy!

After the butterflies, we went to a mini zoo. I immediately went to the pythons :)

i like snakes :)

Ostrich!

We had a lunch buffet while on a Loboc River Cruise!

And finally, the Bohol experience is not complete without souvenirs!!! :)

After the city tour, we went back to the resort and rested for a while. And then went back to Alona Beach for another dinner by the beach. No more dessert this time since we're still full from the buffet lunch earlier. Since we had an early flight back to Manila the next day, we didn't avail the Dolphin Watching Package :(  Anyway, I'm very sure that i'll be going back to Bohol so no worries about that! :) Next time i know the Do's and Dont's when travelling to Bohol :) Like be ready for the beach, buy souvenirs in the local market and Dolphin Watching! Next time I'm going with my family :) Hopefully this year also!
